Usually I write to folks applying for grants.
Today I am writing to leaders who manage corporate giving programs. Please forward to a friend if that's not you!
According to the Giving USA 2025 report, corporations boasted over $44 billion of charitable giving in 2024.
Since then, the new 1% charitable deduction floor has drawn corporate "[r]esponses... less about reducing giving overall and more about refining structure—through multi-year or milestone-based grants and clearer alignment with business objectives," as reported by NonProfit PRO.
Has the charitable deduction floor impacted you?
Here are my 3 steps to restructure a corporate giving program:
1. Reevaluate your funding goals by clarifying what you care most about and what you are really trying to accomplish.
2. Align application and scoring processes with your funding goals to provide direction and transparency for both applicants and funding decision makers.
3. Use technology and strategy to simplify annual processes and lighten the burden on your staff each year.
A few months ago, I shared an interview with the leaders of Jonesboro State Bank's Pledge 10 Program. I had a blast getting to know their history and helping them revamp their grant application and scoring processes.
I would love to help you too. Email me, and we can talk more!
